Enoch, Apocrypha & Pseudepigrapha at EHJ 2026

European Hebrew Journal International Scholarly Online Zoom Conference 2026

New Discoveries and New Directions in Biblical, Hebrew, and Theological Studies

Part of EHJ 2026 · 6–10 November 2026 · 60+ international speakers · 60 scholarly sessions · Live on Zoom · 12 months recording access

Beyond the Hebrew Bible canon, ancient Jewish communities preserved a rich literature including the Book of Enoch and other apocalyptic texts. EHJ 2026 examines these traditions, including their role in Second Temple Judaism and early Christianity, their preservation particularly in Ethiopian tradition, and what they reveal about Jewish beliefs in resurrection, divine judgment, and the structure of the cosmos. These texts represent diverse voices in ancient Judaism and remain vital for understanding the religious world that produced both Rabbinic Judaism and Christianity.
